The AIMS (Advanced Industrial Measurement Systems) HB 5.9.4 CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) is made for the shop floor. The “HB” series, designed with the most advanced CAD design techniques, are flexible and precise instruments, able to carry out measurements both in point-to-point mode as well as continuous measurements with contact sensors and lasers. We can now measure any dimension, especially GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing), with ease and precision.

For the longest time Gent Machine has used manual methods of measuring GD&T: concentricity, circularity, runout, perpendicularity, parallelism, cylindricity, straightness, runout, profile and position. We'd use the comparator and a universal punch gage to measure many of these characteristics. Now, it can be done easier and faster with the click of a button. The part must first be fixtured properly and a program written. But after these are done, the process is a simple as pressing a button. The program runs the stylus over the complete part, depending on the program, and then outputs the measurements. So, anything as difficult as true position can be checked within minutes.
