We most commonly machine steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and brass. Recently we’ve also been running a fair amount of plastic (Delrin and nylon) and titanium. Because we support American companies, we use local mills and surrounding warehouses to supply the highest quality material. It is important that we support our manufacturing industry – an industry that made the USA what it is today – and follow the motto ‘Made in the USA'
 

Cutting oil can play an integral role in efficiency and tool life as well as the quality of parts produced. That is why Gent Machine uses vegetable ester oil and a Mineral oil-based cutting fluids. We use the vegetable oil base with a lower viscocity in our high pressure systems as well as sulfur additives for its superior lubricating properties. With these mixes, we can cut faster while maintaining low temperatures and minimize mist and smoke generation. It’s also chlorine free and made from renewable materials so it’s environmentally friendly. We’re also converting our Davenports to the Mineral-oil based cutting fluids. The Mineral oil also allows our Davenports to cut faster while controlling the tool temperature and maintaining lubrication properties. It protects the parts and tools from corrosion and as a bonus it smells good too. Materials used at Gent Machine.
